🔨 How YarnWeaver works

A writers'-room of AI agents that plan, draft, critique, and polish your writing — with you in control at every step.

1 · Signing in

• Enter your email and we send a one-time sign-in link. Open it on the device you want to use — that device stays signed in, no password.
• Your projects belong to your email. Use 🤝 Share to invite collaborators (editor or viewer) and 💬 Comments to leave notes for them.

2 · Projects & saving

• New — start a named project (blank doc or forge into it). 📕 New series — shared bible (world, cast, notes, style) with volumes that seed from it.
• My Projects — reopen, delete, or ⬆ Import (project zip / ship pack / Markdown / .docx).
• Autosave — after each finished sentence, every few seconds as you type, and at every forge stage. 💾 Save and 🕘 History (restore earlier versions) are on the editor.

3 · Mode & model

• 📖 Short story — one piece. 📚 Book — multi-chapter. Default model is Grok; also Fable/Claude, ChatGPT, Custom, or Ollama.
• Style lock — paste prose samples on the compose form so draft/revise match that voice.
• Your choice, your responsibility — providers receive the text needed for that AI action under their terms. YarnWeaver does not use your manuscripts to train models. See the Terms of Service.

4 · The crew (short story)

Enter a premise and click Plan story. Agents run in turn — you see each finish live:

• Ideator → title, themes, hook
• World Builder → setting
• Character Forge → cast
• — Cast gate — review world & cast —
• Plot Architect → beat outline
• — Outline gate — edit beats —
• Prose Smith → draft · Critic → score (optional auto-revise)
• — Draft gate — then Editor polish —

Bring your own cast: 🎭 Manage cast (name · role · description · traits · knowledge · secrets). The crew uses them verbatim. Save to library to reuse across projects. 🎭 Cast check / 🗣 Ask cast audit or consult characters in voice.

5 · Your three checkpoints

• Cast gate — edit premise, world, cast, and notes, then Approve & outline.
• Outline gate — same stack above the beats; Re-outline or Approve & forge draft.
• Draft gate — ship checklist (Critic ≥ 8, voice drift, open threads, Cast findings; Analyze required by default), optional 🗣 Debate (multi-round) or 🔄 Until green (eval-driven revise loop), then Approve & polish. Diff shows what changed after debate/loop.

6 · Editing & research

• Stories and book chapters are fully editable and autosave. Selection edit: highlight text, then ✨ Rewrite (change that passage) or ➡️ Continue (write what comes next) on the floating bar; optional direction prompt. Right-click for the browser spell checker. Weave attached notes into prose with 🧶 Weave research.
• Note cards — facts/events for the crew. 📌 Place suggests which beat or chapter a note belongs to, then weave that slot only.
• 🔬 Analyze manuscript — Story physics map (timeline, cast presence, plot threads, who-knows-what, voice drift). Fix from the map (beat-scoped on stories). Cast check and (on books) Continuity Guardian use this map when present. Open threads block polish until resolved or acknowledged on the ship checklist.
• 🎨 Generate cover — cover art stored on the project and included in exports. Generates 3 variants to pick from. Cast rows have 🖼 portrait for a locked likeness.
• Writers' desks — Publishing desk (blurb / query / comps), sourced research cards, glossary, plot forks, sensitivity read, table-read, next-scene quota, series continuity, spend estimate.

7 · Book mode

• The Forge Master plans world, cast, and chapters. You approve the plan, then all chapters forge sequentially in one pass (each chapter sees prior summaries for continuity).
• When forging finishes, 🛡️ Continuity Guardian audits timeline, contradictions, and knowledge slips (and the story-physics map if you've analyzed). You approve auto-fix or skip. Critique passes ≥ 1 allows medium/high auto-fixes (0 = audit only).
• 🔄 Regenerate still forges one chapter then pauses so you can review before finishing the rest.
• ➕ Add chapter / ✕ remove, edit titles and text anytime.

8 · Exporting & importing

• ⬇ project · .md · .docx · .pdf · .epub · ship pack · beta pack — project is a full backup you can re-import; the rest are manuscript/reader formats. PDF asks for Screen / 5×8 / 6×9 trim.
• 📦 Publish on Amazon — guided wizard: readiness, author/keywords, Kindle EPUB and/or paperback PDF, one KDP upload zip, then step-by-step upload on kdp.amazon.com. YarnWeaver prepares files; you publish with your Amazon account.
• Ship pack — Scrivener/Vellum-friendly zip (per-chapter markdown + compile order + enriched kdp-metadata.json). Re-import via My Projects or YarnPocket.
• Beta pack — manuscript + spoiler-light synopsis + cast cheat sheet (no knowledge/secrets) for sharing with beta readers.
• Ship checklist — under the export chips: word count, blurb vs ~4,000 chars, cover, series volume, unwritten chapters, plus a display-only spine width estimate.
• Import — YarnWeaver project zip (full restore), ship pack, Markdown chapter zip, or single .md / .txt / .docx. From Scrivener/Vellum: export Markdown or Word first.

9 · YarnPocket

• YarnPocket (yarnpocket.godbey.tech / yarnpocket.godbey.io) — capture notes, photos, video, and interviews; start a plan and approve forge gates on the go; Import. Full editing stays on desktop at yarnweaver.godbey.tech.

Tips

• A specific, evocative premise gives the best results.
• Steer at the outline gate — cheaper and more effective than fixing prose later.
• For books, start with 3–4 chapters to see the arc, then add more. Run Analyze before Cast check or Continuity for a sharper audit.
